GOAT Spotlight: Sammi Mendoza

Welcome to our GOAT Spotlight series, where we proudly showcase the exceptional members of our team here at STN Digital.
As a social-first marketing agency, we launch brands and build highly engaged audiences all due to the incredible talent that thrives within our company.
We are excited to introduce the next GOAT in our spotlight series, Sammi Mendoza. As our Director of Client Operations, Sammi not only exceeds client goals and expectations, but she also spends her time coaching her team to become the next leaders of the industry.
Sammi has worked alongside our VP of Client operations to develop scalable structures, keeping up with our consistent growth. We admire her passion for pushing the boundaries of sports equality for women, along with her ability to level-set her team, empower her coworkers, and always lend a listening ear.
Q: Can you tell us about your role/ your time here at STN Digital?
A: I’ve been at STN since the end of 2018, and I am currently the Director of Client Operations. I oversee our Account Management division, which falls under the Client Services department. My main areas of focus are team capacity, department growth, and client satisfaction!
Q: What is your favorite part of working at our company?
A: It’s definitely the content we create! So many of our clients appreciate a dope piece of content so getting to stretch our innovation muscles often is fun – and the fact that we get to think of memes for a living is unmatched.
Q: What has been your favorite project a client has given you?
A: Ah, tough call! We have partnered with NBC Sports to manage social feeds for On Her Turf. Women’s sports is a huge passion of mine & it’s awesome to feel like STN is a part of pushing toward equal representation for female athletes. Also, back in 2020, we were working alongside an NBA team during the time of the BLM movement & ultimate court walk-offs from NBA players while inside the bubble. Although that was a specific piece that never made it to the feeds, it is by far some of my proudest work.
Q: What do you like best about being a Director?
A: My favorite part about my role is hands down people management & coaching. I love watching people get better, consistently learn, and challenge themselves to consider different perspectives or lead their teams to success. The coaches I’ve had in my life have been so crucial to get me to where I am today, and I hope that I can be a similar presence in my team’s day to help them through whatever they need – both professionally and personally.
Q: What has been your most memorable experience working at STN?
A: GOAT Retreat was one for the books! Seeing STN grow from a 20-person to a 100-person company has been so amazing. Getting to meet all of the teammates that we grew close with over COVID, through a Google Hangout, was surreal. We immediately felt like we had been in person this whole time and brought working together that much better.
Q: What’s a passion of yours outside of work and can you tell us about it?
A: I’m not sure if this is a passion, but spending genuine time with those who mean most to me is how I prefer to spend my time. Whether it’s driving up to LA to see my family, or putting together a cute dinner with friends, I feel best when I surround myself with good people in an atmosphere that we put a lot of good intention into to make special.
Q: What is your favorite social account to follow?
A: I’m an astrology junkie, so anything surrounding the stars ✨let’s also not forget the queen, Beyonce.
Q: What is at the top of your bucket list?
A: I’ve never been to Europe 🤦🏽♀️so I should probably try to make that happen at some point.
