In the fall of 2020, USOPP, who represents Team USA at the Olympics and Paralympics, partnered with STN Digital on an influencer marketing campaign. The goal was to promote Team USA gear and get fans excited about supporting their country for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

How we developed an Influencer Marketing Campaign for Team USA

The team at STN strategically developed and managed the influencer marketing campaign, which included a mix of full service and social sampling influencers. STN was responsible for each step in the process including influencer candidate identification, rate and contract negotiation, hand-packing influencer gear to ship out with handwritten notes, and reporting and analytics.

Influencers were also given custom tracking links and discount codes to encourage their fans to purchase the gear. The team ensured the influencer-created content would not only inform fans about the Team USA gear, but get them excited about purchasing and supporting their favorite athletes competing in the Games.

The results

Through a mix of Instagram in-feed and Story content from mirco and mid-tier influencers, the Team USA influencer marketing campaign generated 235K total impressions and 16.3K total engagements through 36 influencer posts in the fall of 2020.
