GOAT Spotlight: Erick Villegas

Welcome to our GOAT Spotlight series, where we proudly showcase the exceptional members of our team here at STN Digital.
As a social-first marketing agency, we launch brands and build highly engaged audiences all due to the incredible talent that thrives within our company.
We are thrilled to introduce Erick Villegas, our next GOAT in our series of spotlights. Erick is our Paid Media Lead where he helps our clients formulate effective strategies and enhances performance by implementing audience and creative optimizations.
Q: Can you tell us about your role/ your time here at STN Digital?
A: I’ve been at STN for nearly 3 years now overseeing all of our paid media strategy and operations for our clients.
Q: What exactly is paid media and what does it do?
A: Paid Media is the content that is promoted by brands to generate more visibility, engagement, and revenue.
Our team here at STN crafts optimal strategies and maximizes performance through audience and creative optimizations throughout our flights (flights refers to the period/time frame during which advertising is being run).
Our goal on the paid side is to hit the right person, with the right ad, at the right time.
Q: What is your favorite part of working at our company?
A: The People!
I am very lucky to get to work with some amazing people every day who have been friends for years even before STN.
Beyond our small media team, I’m always amazed by the incredibly talented Goats throughout the company from production to creative and everything in between, we really have an incredible collection of talent here.
Q: What is your favorite project that you have worked on?
A: Being from San Diego, working on SDSU was awesome. After having spent my childhood at Qualcomm, seeing the future being built at Snapdragon Stadium and working behind the scenes was a really unique experience and a fun campaign to work on. We created great content, had incredible activations, and really crushed the performance on the paid side which made for a great 360 campaign.
Q: What has been your most memorable experience working at STN?
A: My first SOTU. If I remember correctly we had Scott Hansen & Bruce Buffer on there which was ridiculous/hilarious.
The live chats always make those meetings incredible.
Q: What’s a passion of yours outside of work and can you tell us about it?
A: Outside of work, Jiu-Jitsu is a big part of my day-to-day. I’ve been doing it for about 7-8 years now and I feel like it has helped mold me into the person I am today. I’ve been fortunate enough in the last few years to teach classes and participate in police trainings which has been extremely rewarding to be able to give back to a sport that has given me so much.
Q: What is your favorite social account to follow/what brands do you feel do a great job on social media?
A: I geek out on anything nature or history-related, so I find myself scrolling through @fishingarrett & @historyphotographed quite a bit.
Sportswise, I think the Chargers and the Bills absolutely crush it with their content each week!
